All about Crowns and Bridges
Cosmetic dentistry is not only about correcting the appearance of your smile, it’s actually far more than that and can be done so with crowns and bridges.
The aim of these restorations is to improve the appearance and functionality to restore worn, damaged and/or missing teeth.
There are multiple reasons why teeth need restoring;
- Improper Oral Hygiene,
- Lifestyle Choices
What is a dental crown?
A full coverage dental crown is one way of restoring a badly damaged tooth by protecting the entire structure of the tooth.
Our dental crowns look and feel like natural teeth. They are durable and strong and designed to last you for many years.
What is a dental bridge?
A dental bridge is a way of restoring your smile when a tooth is missing.
We often recommend a bridge for patients who have lost a tooth, leaving a space with teeth on either side. Our experienced team place dental crowns on the teeth on either side of the gap and then connect a false tooth to the crowns to bridge this gap.
This kind of work is highly individualized as each case is different and no tooth is the same. Dr Kimberly Ivett constructs a thorough treatment plan consisting of a comprehensive examination, digital x-rays, and moulds of your existing teeth to design your new attractive smile.
Following this, a treatment plan and quote will be provided to you. Our practice manager will then run through health fund rebates where possible and discuss payment plans if required.
